My Kindergarten teacher was the first to encourage my compulsion for tall tales. Truth be told, I found writing to be a very boring suggestion at the time. In my five-year-old mind, writing only used two colors, and I could never be committed to something so binary. But I quickly figured out how to write colorfully. By the second grade, I was getting into trouble for writing about "adult themes". These days, my themes include career advice in my freelance work -with an interest in branching into parenthood, feminism, and gun safety-, generational trauma and family in my screenwriting, and fantasy-driven self-exploration in my children's books (for kids who can’t take a teacher’s word for it). Through my fanfiction in the Buffyverse and Potterverse, I find incredible creative freedom and the best hype squads the internet can offer.
